It's Hot Out C'he in New Orleans
It’s Hot Out C’he in New Orleans is simply visual documentation of part of the violent culture of New Orleans through slightly jaded eyes. I can’t ignore that this city has somehow trademarked violence and so it is a recurring theme in much of my work. I try to see the silver lining in every problem that we face as a city, not excluding tragedy, and memorialize it in my paintings. I mostly utilize acrylic and panel; however, some works in this series have been executed in oils and other mediums. I want my audience to feel a bit agitated after seeing this series since it deals with a side of violence that ultimately affects us locally. My hope is that this art will be a spark and ignite positive change.
